We came to Parma as a family to represent Remy Charlip at Festival Minimondi.  Remy is very dear to us, and we were so pleased to be a part of the festival.  There were many highlights for us, and many things we enjoyed.  When we arrived, preparations were still taking place.  It was very exciting to see the space transformed by so many people working so hard to bring Remy’s work to life.  The designer of the show, Marco Ferreri, did an incredible job capturing Remy’s spirit and the multiple facets of his career.  We had a lovely time at the opening ceremony, and were honored to have conversations with many of the people who were a part of the show: both those involved directly in putting the show together, and others who were there simply to enjoy the exhibit.  Everyone involved with Festival Minimondi was incredibly kind to us.  We loved hanging out in the bookstore and watching all the different activities that were happening for children there.  We especially loved the performers Sandra Soncini and Elisa Cuppini for their incredible work creating an interactive performance for children that clearly brought everyone involved great joy.  We were lucky to stay long enough in Parma to see Virgilio Sieni dance.  Though he had not met Remy, his movements were extremely complimentary to Remy’s choreography and his concepts of dance.  Overall, we could not be more pleased with the time we spent in Parma.  We want to give special thanks to everyone at Orecchio Acerbo for their beautiful Italian edition of Fortunately, to Elizabeth Lortic and Les Trois Oures, for their incredible efforts promoting Remy Charlip, and of course, Silvia Barbagallo, Paola Cantarelli, and everyone else at Minimondi who worked so hard to make the festival so wonderful, and our time in Parma so pleasant.  Congratulations on the eleventh year of Festival Minimondi. From us, and from Remy Charlip, a most sincere thank you.
